Services

Many of us come to therapy for many reasons.

Perhaps you are trying to work through a significant life event, you want to understand yourself better or you have simply lost your way…

Perhaps your child is going through a difficult period and are struggling or are refusing to communicate with anybody…

Therapy looks different for everyone, depending on your preferred style, what you want and what you need. As a humanistic and integrative counsellor, I use approaches based on each individual and what may work best for you. The first few sessions are assessment and getting to know each other, where we then build an understanding of what will be most helpful for you.

My practice is also:

Neuro-affirming

As an individual with AuDHD, I’m very aware of the differences and challenges that neurodivergent individuals have to face on a day-to-day. Neurodivergence is dimensional and it does not appear the same in every person who is Autistic or ADHD. Areas such as masking our true selves to avoid exposing us out of fear of judgement, difficulty in identifying our emotions (alexithymia) to process and communicate them, rejection sensitivity (I could go on) are all welcomed, embraced and considered in your therapeutic journey.

Trauma-informed

Trauma is a deep-rooted and often unconscious wound that impacts an individuals perception of themselves, their relationships and the world around them. It can also be something that we are conscious of, being aware of the impact it has had. This can appear as many surface difficulties, such as anger, anxiety, depression, dissociation/withdrawal. To be trauma-informed means I am guided by the principles of security, trust, choice, empowerment, collaboration and respect for you.

GSRD (Gender, Sex, Relationship Diversity) inclusive

Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community comes with many challenges and difficulties. You can’t help who you are and who you are attracted to. In a world that seems to consistently shame and devalue our existence, solely focusing on gender and sexuality, it is infuriating, terrifying and exhausting. As a queer gay man, I am aware that there is more to us than what others see (or choose to see).

Over time, as we explore further into your life experiences, we can help to expand on your mind and introduce the potential to be your most authentic and unapologetic self. This aids our nervous system to release our anger, fears and anxiety, building an overall sense of mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

I offer in-person, online, telephone and text support. I believe that wellbeing support should be as accessible as it can be, considering various circumstances that can be a barrier.

My standard rate is £45 per 50 minute session.
I offer a sliding scale rate for students, job seekers and low income.

I offer an initial FREE 15 minute consultation which is an opportunity to meet and see whether you feel I am a good fit for you.

The following policies are in place to preserve the therapeutic and professional relationship between counsellor and client. When booking a session, you reserve a space which may otherwise be available for someone else.

Where less than 24 hours is given for any session cancellation, the full fee for the session is due.

Sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes (maximum) in duration. Please arrive in good time for sessions. To avoid impacting on other clients, it is not possible to extend the session.

If a client is more than 15 minutes late without notice and/or agreement to reschedule, this will be treated as cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.
